SevenCs GmbH announced the new version 1.3.2 of the SharpCoat Kernel for .NET developments.

Besides general software maintenance, such as the support of new data products or product versions, minor functionality changes, and bug fixes the two major changes in the new 5.12 Kernel version are:

• API extensions to support the distribution of official ENCs in SevenCs SENC format (directENC) by ChartWorld GmbH, our chart agent subsidiary, and
• API extensions to simplify the S-63 chart handling and example code for a Chart Handler.

The first change allows our OEMs to load official ENCs not only in normal S-63 format but, in case the data is supplied by ChartWorld, also in the SevenCs SENC format (directENC). The main advantages of this are simplified chart handling and a much faster chart loading process.
The second change allows our OEMs to develop their own chart handling interface. As an example of a stand-alone ChartHandler, SevenCs provides the necessary source code.

Following new versions or new data products are now supported by the Kernel:

• S-57 Ed. 3.1.2 for ENC, AML 3.0.1, AIO 2.0 (Additional Information Overlay, UKHO) and SevenCs bENC (bathymetric ENC)

In addition a new extensive Programming Guide is available with many souce code examples for typical ECDIS functions.
