The new ENC Contour Generator can automatically generate depth contours at defined intervals from xyz depth data. The contours can be exported as depth contours to S-57 and/or SENC.

The new ENC Contour Generator incorporates a 3D display to allow both input data and contour results to be visualized easily. ENC Contour Generator supports “safe side contour smoothing” and “safe side contour generalization” to ensure the depth contours produced meet the needs of maritime applications.

The new ENC Contour Generator is very easy to configure and usually only requires the specification of a final product scale and the desired contour levels to produce good results. Nevertheless, advanced settings for fine-tuning are available. The resulting automatically generated contours can be easily exported to S-57 and SevenCs SENC format.

 

Highlights of new ENC Contour Generator include:

• A comprehensive Coordinate Reference System (CRS) and Transformation Manager, which is used to specify the CRS parameters (i.e. projection, geodetic datum, transformation parameters) of the input data. It has a large amount of pre-defined coordinate reference systems already built in. Alternatively the user can make his or her own custom CRS definition.
• The ability to save different contouring settings as data profiles that can be re-used or shared.
