ChartWorld Achieves SENC Distribution Process Approval

Hamburg, Germany – 8th January 2010. SevenCs GmbH announced today that its digital chart agent subsidiary, ChartWorld GmbH, has received DNV type-approval of its system electronic navigational charts (SENC) distribution process for the SevenCs' type-approved system ENC data format, "directENC", in accordance with the Primar Stavangar requirements for SENC distribution.

Commenting on the new approval, SevenCs Managing Director, John Humphrey, said,

"SevenCs and ChartWorld believe that SENC distribution is the best way of providing electronic nautical chart users with the service quality and ease of use they deserve. Therefore, this approval is not only a great achievement in itself for the ChartWorld team, but also a major opportunity for ChartWorld to develop and deliver better data services for users of systems based on the SevenCs Kernel."

John went on to add,

"Although ChartWorld’s first approval is for SevenCs directENC, we believe that SENC distribution should be available for the whole market. Therefore, ChartWorld would welcome the opportunity to build on its established distribution processes and infrastructure in order to work with other Kernel developers orECDIS manufacturers to get approval for their specific SENC formats as well."
