SevenCs GmbH announced the extension of its comprehensive ENC Tools Software Suite by the addition of three new software tools: ENC Encryptor, ENC Permit Generator, and ENC Contour Generator.

In combination with the ENC Permit Generator, ENC Encryptor allows organizations producing S-57 electronic navigational charts (ENCs) to encrypt and sign chart data according to the IHO S-63 Data Protection Scheme. S-63 not only secures valuable navigational data by preventing unauthorized copying of data, but also controls user data access, and allows users to verify the source of their electronic charts.

ENC Contour Generator is a software plug-in module for the well known SevenCs ENC Designer application. ENC Designer is used by hydrographic authorities, port authorities, and others to produce S-57 navigational charts and the ENC Contour Generator allows them to automatically generate chart contours at defined intervals from xyz depth data (i.e. cluster of depth points defined by geographic coordinates and a depth value). A key feature of the ENC Contour Generator is its ability to consider the scale of the final chart to control the degree of contour generalization. The generalization process also integrates "safe side" directional contour modification.
