ENC and ECDIS Research ProjectsSevenCs research team is focused on extending the capability and functionality ECDIS and other navigational applications, and developing new data products.
One example, is the introduction of "bathymetricENCs" which facilitate the integration of high density bathymetry in an ECDIS. Another is the development of high-precision navigation software used to convey large cruise vessels from the Papenburg shipyard down the River Ems to the open sea.
The research team also works closely with software development to improve and extend the existing product suite, for example, the 3D module for EC2007 Kernel, AML support, etc. We also participate in EU projects dealing with marine and maritime matters such as: River Information Systems; Maritime Navigation Information Services; and Marine XML.
